Entry Fees

Fees are $7.00 (CAD) for the first entry and $5.00 for each additional entry.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Each entrant is limited to one (1) entry per sub-style (exceptions are detailed below).

Bottle Acceptance Rules

  • All entries must be in standard green or brown, regular sized (333ml to 500ml) beer bottles. PET bottles and swing top lids are also acceptable.
  • Bottles that are unique e.g. raised lettering, labeled or otherwise distinguishable caps or markings, will NOT be accepted.
  • Bottle caps must be the standard metallic gold, silver or black.
  • Corked bottles will NOT be accepted.
  • Labeled caps will not be accepted. If your cap has a marking, please completely black out the cap with a black sharpie.
  • Bottles will not be returned to contest entrants.
  • Completed entry forms and recipe sheets must be submitted with all entries, and can be printed directly from this website. Entry forms should be attached to bottles with a rubber band only; glue and/or tape are unacceptable.
  • Please fill out the entry forms completely. Be meticulous about noting any special ingredients that must be specified per the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines. Failure to note such ingredients may impact the judges' scoring of your entry.
  • Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once.

Packing and Shipping

Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Do not over pack! Write clearly: "Fragile. This Side Up." on the package. Your package should weigh less than 25 pounds. Please refrain from using "messy" packaging materials such a Styrofoam "peanuts" or pellets; please use packaging material such as bubble wrap.

Enclose each of your bottle labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching to their respective bottles. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which beer has broken if there is damage during shipment.

Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.

It is not against any Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) regulations or federal laws to ship your entries via privately owned shipping company for analytical purposes. However, IT IS ILLEGAL TO SHIP ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES VIA THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. Private shipping companies have the right to refuse your shipment if they are informed that the package contains glass and/or alcoholic beverages. Be aware that entries mailed internationally are often required by customs to have proper documentation. These entries might be opened and/or returned to the shipper by customs' officials at their discretion. It is solely the entrant's responsibility to follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Best of Show

The grand prize winner of the BJCP competition will have the honour of brewing a commercial batch of their own recipe at Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company.  The winner of the People’s Choice competition will also be invited to brew their recipe on the “pilot batch” system at Beau’s, and will have their beer sold in the retail location (as well as receive a few bottles of their crafted beer).
